Over 20 Years Manufacturer of Rubber Belts

Frequently Asked Questions — LYBELT Rubber Belt Manufacturer

We get a lot of questions from distributors, OEM buyers, and engineers evaluating Chinese belt suppliers. Fair enough — choosing a manufacturing partner is a big decision, and the wrong choice costs more than money. Here are honest answers to the questions we hear most often.

Company & Capabilities

Who is LYBELT?

Longyi Rubber Products Factory (brand: LYBELT) is a rubber belt manufacturer based in Xingtai, Hebei Province, China. We’ve been making belts since 1999, starting with PK belts (poly V belts) for the domestic market and expanding to a full range of automotive, industrial, agricultural, ATV/UTV, and motorcycle belts. Today, 80%+ of our production is exported to over 100 countries.

Are you a factory or a trading company?

We’re a factory. Our production facility is in Xingtai, Hebei Province — real production lines you can visit. When you buy from us, you’re buying from the people who actually make the belts. No middlemen, no markup, no telephone game when you have a technical question.

What certifications do you hold?

We hold IATF 16949 (Automotive Quality Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety). We also achieved aviation product certification in 2018. IATF 16949 is one of the most demanding quality certifications in the automotive component industry.

What products do you manufacture?

Five major product lines:

Quality & Materials

What rubber compounds do you use?

We’ve developed [130+ proprietary rubber compound formulations](/about-us/) since 1999. Main compound families:

  • EPDM — Heat/ozone resistant, modern automotive standard (-40°C to +150°C)
  • CR (Neoprene) — Oil resistant, cost-effective for general industrial (-30°C to +120°C)
  • HNBR — Premium oil + heat resistance for demanding applications (-30°C to +165°C)
  • NBR (Nitrile) — Superior oil/fuel resistance (-30°C to +100°C)
  • NR (Natural Rubber) — High elasticity, excellent tear strength (-20°C to +80°C)
  • FKM — Extreme chemical and heat resistance for specialty applications

What's the difference between EPDM and CR timing belts?

EPDM handles heat better (-40°C to +150°C vs CR’s -30°C to +120°C), resists ozone degradation, and lasts about 30% longer under the same conditions. EPDM has become the modern standard for automotive timing belts because of its superior temperature resistance and longevity. CR is still fine for general industrial applications where oil resistance matters more than temperature range, but for automotive timing belts, EPDM is the modern standard.

How do you ensure quality?

Our [IATF 16949 certified](/certifications/) quality system includes:

  • Incoming raw material inspection and testing
  • In-process statistical process control (SPC)
  • 100% final dimensional inspection
  • Tensile strength, flex life, and temperature resistance testing
  • Full traceability from raw material batch to finished product
  • Certificate of Conformance with every shipment

Not sure? Contact our technical team with your application details. We’ve got extensive application data to draw from.

OEM & Private Label

Do you offer OEM/private label manufacturing?

Yes. We handle significant private label production for distributors worldwide. Your brand, our manufacturing. Full [OEM/ODM services](/oem-odm/) including:

  • Custom branding (printed, embossed, molded, or laser-engraved logos)
  • Custom packaging (polybag, retail box, bulk)
  • Custom part number systems
  • Custom compound formulations

Can you match a competitor's belt?

Yes. Send us a sample, a drawing, or just a part number. We cross-reference Gates, Dayco, Continental, Bando, Mitsuboshi, and other major brands. Analysis turnaround: 3-5 business days.

What's the MOQ?

Depends on the product:

Do you accept third-party inspection?

Yes. SGS, TUV, Bureau Veritas, or your own QC team — we welcome inspection at any stage of production.

Technical Support

Can you help with material selection?

Absolutely. Tell us your operating conditions — temperature range, chemical exposure, load profile, speed, expected service life — and our engineering team will recommend the optimal compound and construction.

Do you provide technical documentation?

Yes. We provide:

  • Product datasheets with full specifications

Can you develop custom compounds?

Yes. If none of our 130+ existing formulations fit your application, our R&D lab can develop a new compound. We run compound trials weekly and can typically have test results within 2-3 weeks.

Still Have Questions?

Our team responds within 24 hours. No question is too technical or too basic — we’d rather answer it now than have it become a problem later.
